Greater Dallas Outside B2B Building Materials Sales Representative

An established building materials company seeks an Outside B2B Building Materials Sales Representative in the Greater Dallas, Texas area to achieve territory, market and product line goals with existing and new business/industrial clients. Duties:

– Visit established and potential customers, resellers & end users
– Travel over 60% and as needed per customer request
– Display and demonstrate product
– Maintain sales materials
– Stay current with product line information
– Prepare presentations & quotes
– Develop book of business with end users & distributors
– Process and monetize new leads & referrals
– Prepare sales contracts and follow up on payment arrangements
– Estimate delivery dates based on production schedule and current delivery patterns
– Track expenses and keep accurate reports
– Add client and sales data to company database
– Resolve customer delivery problems
– Attend company trade shows

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
5-10 years successful building materials sales.
Technical aptitude, construction application experience highly desirable.

Read and apply content of business, technical, and government regulations.
Compile data into reports, correspondence and procedure manuals.
Effectively communicate with managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Calculate all figures and amounts necessary for business and technical aspects of the job, including basic algebra & geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to interpret and execute written, oral or technical instructions.
Ability to process concrete data in typical daily workflow.

Physical Demands

Walk, stand, sit, speak, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment

The Outside Sales Rep reports to a National Sales Manager and works from a home office within the territory.
