This growing and respected multi-location retailer of hardware and building materials is seeking a industry experienced professional to join their team as a Hardware / Building Materials Store Manager.  Successful candidates will be trained at one location and then moved to a permanent branch after completing the training program.

Experience Required:

  • Retail management experience
  • Hard lines retailing preferred
  • Exposure to P&L, scheduling and payroll activities
  • Shrink control
  • Sales initiatives
  • Product merchandising
  • Demonstrated employee supervision experience

Candidates experienced in outdoor power equipment sales and maintenance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Overview:

Store Manager will be responsibilities for managing store and yard operations to optimize sales and profitability while satisfying customer and employee needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual plans for operations and profitability.
  • Recruits, directs and motivates employees to attain goals.
  • Ensures quality customer service through personal interaction with contractor and retail customers.
  • Trains subordinate staff to provide quality customer service.
  • Resolves customer complaints.
  • Manages merchandise levels by ensuring that the proper ordering, receiving, pricing and merchandising procedures are followed.
  • Oversees store and yard operations through regular inspections of sales floor and yard to ensure completion of daily opening and closing procedures, project completion, good housekeeping, inventory control, merchandising and customer service.
  • Monitors credit for all new and current customers including set-up of accounts, changes to accounts and involvement in collection.
